Suprise hobbies!!!

I've suprised myself over the last couple of days! I've taken up a hobby that I never thought in a million years that I would!

My mum has taught me to crochet!!! I've already done a little blanket for the babies moses basket and am on blanket no.2 which hopefully will be big enough to be cot size!!!

Its very theraputic to actually have something to do that takes little energy... and while I've been watching Alias dvd's (courtesy of JM!) I've needed a distraction of kinds as it gets abit tense at times!!!!

So there we go! Can't quite believe it!

How things work out...

I've been quite pensive over the last few days... about how things turn out in the end. Sometimes the most hopeless of situations come right after years of waiting and praying about it.

Its hard to write about specifics without going into lots of detail but there are 3 situations that have been really tough over the last few years, and within the last month all 3 have come right! Its amazing really and Im very thankful to say the least. All 3 situations are real blessings, 1 requires more difficulty in the short term but will be amazing in the long term.

Sorry that this post is so vague, but I just wanted to say that sometimes time, prayer and patience can seem so trying but even after years - these things can all work out in the most amazing ways.

Famous Sightings....

I was prompted to write this the other day when a good friend of mine texted me to tell me she was sat opposite Ruth Langsford (This Morning presenter and wife of Eammon Holmes) and then she happened to see her again the day oafter and nearly knocked over her son!!!

I get to thinking then... see when I was in london I never saw anyone even remotely famous. But since moving up here I bump into members of the hollyoaks cast on an almost regular basis!!!

Seen so far are James McKenna, who plays Jack Osbourne, but has also been in Touch of Frost amongst other things... who was jogging (the 3 times I saw him so he must like to keep fit!)

Nick Pickard who plays Tony Hutchinson... waiting at the station as I came home from work!

And Nathalie Emanuel .... who plays the lesser seen Sasha Valentine, but who has the most incredible hair!
So there you go what an exciting place I live!!! Hehe!

Shameful Addictions...

Im ashamed to say that I have become increasingly hooked on Big Brother this year.

I watched the first ever series and then bits of the others but this year I'm really into it!!!

Maybe its the twins who make me feel at home with their Stoke accent (that no1 else understands apparently!) or maybe its just that I have no life and have a need that BB fulfills (I would hope its the former of the 2)!

I thought Carol was cool at first, but I'm thinking there are some serious insecurities somewhere with her 'role' as cook and housekeeper being so fiercely important to her. And the comments made about Amy during nominations were pretty harsh by anyones standards. At least Carol wasn't 2 faced and didnt apologised.

Tracey, I like alot as she has remained herself for the entirety so far. Something I respect as I'm sure being in that house has the great potential of sending you loopy!
Anyways, I have owned up to my shameful addiction to reality (or lack of reality) TV. At least I have stopped watching Jeremy Kyle now... and now that Fern and Philip aren't doing This Morning the TV remains off during the day Im proud to say!!!

*eyes watering*

So I just got back from my 34 week check up with my midwife. And everything is fine and dandy, blood pressure is down (so this no work suits me!), no nasties in the errrm 'sample' and hte baby's heart rate is good and strong.

My heart did sink somewhat when it came to measuring time!

For those not so up on these things: the midwife will measure from the top of the *cough cough* pubic bone to the top of the uterus (that heads more and more north every week!) and that measurement in cms is (roughly) what the baby is in weeks! Incredible freak of nature isn't it!?
So I'm 34 weeks along, and the baby has a measurement of 36 weeks! Bearing in mind that I have another 6 weeks of baby growing to go!!! OUCH OUCH AND OUCH AGAIN!!! See why my heart sank and eyes started to water!?
Anyways enough of that - I find denial a wonderful realm to disappear into!
We had good news this week, my lovely husband has got himself another job - at a fantastic organisation doing what he is so gifted at and so enjoys doing. Great stuff!
Its sunny outside so I shall go and sit in the back and read for a while me thinks.

Morals learned from 'Friends' and baby showers!

I was watching friends last night and laughed at the bit when Ross is on sabbatical from work due to his "rage" and he gets bored really quickly and does loads of jobs in 1 morning then has nothing left to do... Joey comes to his rescue and teaches Ross the valuable lesson of spacing out tasks throughout the week! THIS IS MY LIFE NOW! Hahaha!

Its 1.30pm and I've accomplished quite alot (considering the new slow pace of life!). I've done washing and put other clean clothes away, been to Aldi, Iceland and the fab fruit and vege shop, had lunch and sorted out finances! This afternoon I can chill out and read before making dinner.

We had a good weekend visiting my folks and my inlaws. I love spending time with my mum and dad. Also my old church threw me a suprise baby shower which was so sweet of them. All the women came to my parents house and surprised me with loads and loads of gifts for the baby. There was piles of toiletries, clothes, nappies and chocolate for me and craig!!! Mum had baked lots of lovely things for everyone too. It was so lovely to see everyone and I felt very blessed and spoilt by everyone. Everything that had been on my list to get in terms of toiletries has been provided in abundance - incredible!

the sun is shining - the weather is sweeeeeet yeah!

So the sun is out... I have nothing to do and nowhere to be so I shall shortly be moving to the bliss of my garden chair, with my sunnies on and a good book. Jealous anyone!???

How Christian are you?

Mmmm I'm quite a heathen by some standards!!!
You are 69% Christian

You have access to heaven, but you might not meet the big guy or the son--if there is a heaven. But you're score is higher than the others before you and so go ahead, pat yourself on the back, you're not going to hell.

Too long to go...

This pregnancy thing is getting me down today - I so desperately want to meet the baby, find out if its a boy or girl, what he or she is like and all that sort of thing. And there is just tooo long to wait!!!

The other thing is I'm sick of not being comfortable. by 9pm I'm so uncomfortable I go and lie down and watch telly in bed. But then after going to sleep I wake up with intense pain down the edge of both legs! and it doesnt go away for the rest of the night. Ggggrrrrr! Apparently its a pregnancy thing and probably won't go away till after the baby is born. Ahh well.... it will all be worth it!

Moan over now - its just a little much sometimes when I'm so tired! Today I shall be doing some tidying and organising in the nursery. People have already got us so much - its lovely!!! The clothes are all washed and in the little drawers, and hopefully we'll out up some cute paintings I did soon. Hehehe!

Tractors and Farms and little white dogs....

So another new day needed another new post!

Today I have various tasks to complete... shopping, ironing, posting off presents for friends new babies, trying to sell a tractor, and writing to an accountant!

To understand the selling of a tractor you must first understand that my husband part owns a farm that is no longer a working farm... hence why there are spare bits of machinery to part with! The farm is beautiful and is perched on the edge of a beautifully picturesque valley. The view from there are stunning and I would never get tired of them! Oh and that is where my lovely little staffy dog lives! She really does have the life of Riley there... she gets walked down the fields everyday and gets her every need met by my in-laws who are around all day. Sounds great doesn't it!?

Right enough rambling. Time to plough my way through the list of jobs for today.
